BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Holmenkollen 2018
Date:Mar 15, 2018 - Mar 18, 2018
The World Cup final is an experience for everyone – including the youngest! Bring the whole family to the biathlon party in Holmenkollen! The event should be fun for both young and old! We have therefore created the DNB family camp in Kapellskogen with plenty of fun and games. While the adults watch the drama taking place in the arena, we offer activities to entertain the kids. Bring the whole family to the biathlon party – including the kids! You can follow the races on two huge screens and cheer on the athletes as they zoom past in the track. In the DNB family camp there is fun to be had for everyone. We will fire up the fire bowls, and there will be straw bales to sit on. We also have two lavvo tents if you need to warm yourself up. There are toilet facilities on site as well as stalls selling food and drink.
You must be at least 18 years old to work as a volunteer. However, we are keen to put together a team of volunteers in all age groups from 18 up. We need people to provide participants, spectators and other volunteers with an excellent experience during the sports festival. You can be sure of racking up unique experience and memorable days – as well as the knowledge that you played a key role in the sports festival in Holmenkollen. The organisation comprises a great many sections, with appreciable variation in their tasks and assignments. We therefore need volunteers with different skills and experience. Interest in volunteering for biathlon events has been high in recent years, so we recommend that you send in your application early if you want to be a part of the upcoming festival of sport. The World Cup event last for three days. Some of the sections have assignments to perform before and after the event itself. We expect that all volunteers set aside at least three days to work at the event. If you would like to commit to more than this, you are more than welcome to do so. You can register the days you wish to work when applying for a volunteer position. The earlier you submit your application, the greater the chance of your being able to work on your preferred dates. Please be aware that all communication during the event will be in Norwegian, so basic Norwegian language skills are necessary to be able to work as a volunteer.
Volunteers are entitled to meals and refreshments. We will be serving good, healthy meals – and the waffle iron will also be in service. As a volunteer, you are granted free access to the arena on competition days. You are also entitled to two tickets for Sunday’s competition, free of charge. As long as the events do not clash with your on-duty periods, you are welcome to watch the competitions.
