FIS Tour de Ski - Final Climb
Date:Jan 6, 2018 - Jan 7, 2018
Location:Cross-Country Stadium Lago di Tesero, Val di Fiemme, Italy
12th Tour de Ski was created right to return the emotions of a multiple stage race following the example of Tour de France, but with cross-country skis on. The World Cup champions return to Val di Fiemme for the twelfth edition, with the spectacular Final Climb of Alpe Cermis, our thrilling slopes reaching 30% incline and the thousands of fans make this event unique in the world.
One organisation, two stadiums, eleven countries united in one valley, and the driving force of all the system is our group of volunteers: 700 for the World Cup events, 1300 for World Championships. These numbers represent the power of a great team, that togheter with the important support of the Autonomous Province of Trento, turned Val di Fiemme into a very important location for cross country at a worldwide level. Young and less young people, all united with the aim to live some days as protagonists, together with all the athletes from all over the world, in order to give voice to the sport values. While organising the third World Championship, our group of volunteers became younger and younger: the average age, that in 2010 was of 54, in February 2013 was of 48 years. This change was possible thanks to the participation of a lot of young people, that gave their contribution in terms of dynamism and vitality.
